Fit Sis of the Month: Akilah Divine

Starting this month, Ebony Girl Fitness will be giving the spotlight to one woman that takes the time to dedicate herself fully to the gym. The beautiful Akilah Divine will be our very first Fit Sis of the Month because although she has so much on her plate while attending Delaware State University, she still makes it a priority to get in the gym each morning. How long have you been dedicated to the gym?

I've been dedicated to the gym faithfully for 2 years.

What is your goal?

My goal is to build muscle in certain places while toning others. My motto is "stomach flatter, butt phatter" lol I also would like to lose at least 5-10 pounds in the process.

What do you enjoy working on the most?

I like working on my butt the most. I often find myself spending the majority of my workout dedicated to squats. This is because I can feel it working and have been seeing results.

Brittany Renner!

Comfortable workout shoes, headphones and water.

Say one positive thing about yourself..

I'm very determined and I'll keep pushing through until I accomplish my goals. I believe that every goal is achievable and that we live in a world full of limitless possibilities.

What advice would you give women who are just starting out?

Continuously ask yourself, "How bad do you want it?". Whenever you feel yourself about to quit or getting tired, push through. You have to really believe in yourself to accomplish your goals.
