Mental Health: Should Exercising Take Place of a Therapist Completely?
Seasonal Affective Disorder also known as "SAD" is among us and most of us are trying our hardest to avoid going down that route. When seasons begin to change, so do we.. unfortunately its not as pretty as the leaves are when they begin to fall in autumn. It's in a way that makes us want to stay in bed wrapped up in our covers all day. I know the feeling all too well, and trust me it's not easy. Many people think exercising will worsen the symptoms of anxiety and depression when in reality, it makes things better. Granted, getting out of bed may be extremely difficult to do during this time but exercising will make it all worth it. Now don't get me wrong, randomly going out and jogging for a mile doesn't mean that all your problems will magically disappear BUT having a regular exercise schedule that you stick to can help a lot. Exercising releases endorphins that work to relax and put you at ease. This is especially important because hitting the gym could possibly replace going to a therapist or taking medication (depending on how severe the symptoms are). What do you guys think? Could exercising take place of a therapist or medication COMPLETELY? Respond in the comments below.
