9 Fitness Questions That You Didn't Know You Needed Answered!

Sometimes we have those questions that we aren't sure if we should ask and most of the time its from fear of sounding silly or being wrong. This post is specifically for you guys, because I am the same way most of the time. When it comes to exercising, we have many questions that need to be answered, especially when we aren't used to working out regularly. Check out the questions and answers below and be sure to have your question answered by time you're done reading!

How do you become a morning person so you can workout?

This question varies depending solely on the person, but if you really want to make a change and begin working out to work on yourself... you will do it! Making sure you go to bed on time so you get an adequate amount of sleep is extremely important. Studies show that adults should get about 8-9 hours of sleep each night in order to feel well rested In the morning. Start by heading o bed on time, then set your alarm to whatever time you plan to wake up. Once you get out of bed, try doing jumping jacks to wake you up. I promise you.. all it takes is you getting out of bed, then everything gets easier from there.

What increases results faster, a better diet or exercising?

Honestly, both are necessary when it comes to being healthy both mentally and physically. If you aren't trying to lose much weight, of course a better diet is essential. Exercising and not having a clean diet can also hinder you. It'll take longer for you to get where you need to be if you do one without doing the other, both are equally as important!

What are the best foods to eat before working out?

Fresh fruits, vegetables, smoothies, and energy bars are all perfect foods to eat before heading to the gym. Eating a meal heavy in carbs and protein while being low in fat is preferred. For example, starchy vegetables will provide you with the fuel you need. I personally eat oatmeal before exercising in the morning, this is a great source of both fiber and protein.

...After working out?

Your body is in recovery mode after exercising, its important to get all the nutrients you can get. Eating something high in protein but low in carbs would be a good idea. I usually make tuna salad, or an omelet and both of these are high in protein.

How many days per week should I exercise?

It's important to dedicate at least 3 days a week in the gym...for 1 hour!

Is it good to workout when you are stressed?

Definitely! It may seem like a bad idea at first, but you realize that a weight is definitely lifted off your shoulder (no pun intended) after you leave the gym. Stress is actually a reason why you should exercise.

Should I do cardio or weight training first?

Again, this question varies on the person but I personally found cardio to be more helpful at the end of a workout. Especially if its leg day, you will definitely want to work on weight training before running on the treadmill so your legs don't feel like spaghetti by the time you're walking out.

How long should I do cardio for?

If you are currently out of shape and trying to increase your stamina, it would be best to do cardio for an extended period of time. If you are in the process of trying to lose fat, 30 to 45 min of cardio up to 3 times a week is preferred.

Will lifting weights make me look "manly"?

This is a question many females as that are looking to just "tone up". Truth is, lifting doesn't make females look manly AT ALL. Truth is, when you see those women that are more heavily built than your body building boyfriend....they usually use enhancements (such as steroids) to help them increase muscle mass. Females who don't use steroids can lift as heavy as they want and they wont come close to "looking manly".
